Pier 4 hotelli, Helsinki
Solo Sokos Hotel Pier 4 is a unique hotel complex located by the sea in Helsinki’s Katajanokka district. The interior design was created by Franz.
The interior emphasizes wood and luxurious stone: travertine- and onyx-inspired ceramic tiles from ABL-Laatat bring a bright and elegant feel to the rooms. Custom-designed surfaces, nightstands, and shelves covered with ceramic slabs were crafted by ABL Leikkaamo, a specialist in tailored solutions for any project. The sea-facing rooms feature the Tyyni theme, while the city- and park-facing rooms adopt the Valkama theme, inspired by a sheltered marina. The hotel comprises a total of 164 rooms spread across four floors.
Franz's design also took into account the hotel’s ambition to be Finland’s most climate-responsible hotel, reflected in sustainable and eco-friendly material choices and LEED-certified water fixtures.
ABL Leikkaamo toteuttaa vaativatkin mittatilaustyöt
ABL Leikkaamo on suunnittelijoiden toteutusapuna erilaisissa rakennus- ja sisustusprojekteissa sekä vaativimmissakin toteutuksissa. Työn hedelmiä saatiin ihailla ABL Artesan x Samuji Designer -näyttelyssä 2016.
Samuji Housen Erottajankadun myymälässä oleva näyttely esittelee, mitä tapahtuu, kun laatta-artesaanille ja suunnittelijoille annetaan vapaat kädet - eli suunnittelijat, joiden materiaaleina on yleensä kangas ja paperi, ovatkin nyt tarttuneet keramiikkaan ja luonnonkiveen, laatta-artesaanin tärkeällä avustuksella. Lopputulos on jotakin, mitä tällä saralla ei ole ennen nähty.
ABL Countertops have Finnish Work’s Key Flag Symbol
The Association for Finnish Work awarded ABL-Laatat with Finnish Work’s Key Flag Symbol as a recognition of a product made in Finland. Our ceramic countertops are manufactured with Finnish handicraft at ABL Cut Studio in Siltamäki, Helsinki.
The popularity of ABL ceramic countertops has grown strongly: ceramics are a durable and natural material with strong technical properties and a beautiful, natural appearance. This is causing more and more people to choose ceramics as the material for kitchen countertops. Now our countertops have a Key Flag Symbol as a recognition of it's Finnish origin and its contribution to Finnish work.

ABL Lab is Helsinki's largest tile exhibition in Kamppi
ABL-Laatat is relocating: we are opening Helsinki’s largest architectural tile exhibition in Kamppi. The new ABL Lab will be open from Monday, November 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at Eerikinkatu 32–36, fourth floor.
ABL’s tile store will close its doors in Siltamäki, Helsinki, with the last day of operation on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. Moving forward, you’ll find our full selection in Kamppi. We are bringing the city’s largest and most comprehensive selection to the heart of Helsinki, where we can serve all our customers even better in a new center of events, design, and creativity.
