Maria Silvast becomes CEO of ABL-Laatat
Thrilled to announce Maria Silvast as the new CEO of ABL-Laatat, bringing a wealth of expertise in ceramics and natural stones. With 25 years of history as a family-owned business, ABL-Laatat is evolving in 2024 under Maria's leadership.
Maria's extensive background in project sales, coupled with her strong commercial vision, creativity, and bold innovation, positions her as a dynamic leader. Known for her approachability and remarkable ability to set things in motion, Maria is committed to steering ABL-Laatat towards robust growth and achieving ambitious goals.
"I want to lead ABL-Laatat towards strong growth and towards our goals. I have a long history in project sales, I know the field, and I know our fantastic customers. ABL-Laatat is the architect's best tool, and I want to continue holding onto this," says Silvast.
In response to global shifts towards circular economies, Maria emphasizes the importance of smart circular business models to preserve unique natural resources and extract more value from existing ones. Sustainability, environmental innovation, and circular economy are key focus areas for ABL-Laatat's future under Maria's leadership.
"We've initiated our sustainability journey, delving into research and prototypes in circular design. These themes are close to my heart, and I'm always open to discussions around them," says Maria Silvast.
ABL-Laatat, known for importing, selling, and manufacturing architectural surfaces operates from its main hub in Helsinki's Siltamäki. With a 1000m² tile showroom, ABL PRO store, and ABL Cut Studio, we cater to designers, tiling contractors, and private customers. ABL Lab and ABL-Laatat Tampere focus on project services and serve as showrooms for business customers.
As a Finnish family business established in 1998, ABL-Laatat is committed to delivering quality across Finland. Company turnover 2022 was approximately 13M€.

Uutta teknologiaa: Jiirikone tekee viimeisteltyä jälkeä
ABL Leikkaamon konevoimissa on uusi työkalu, joka leikkaa ja hioo jiirit laattaan ja luonnonkiveen. Kone tekee silmää hivelevää jälkeä, sekä säästää työmailla aikaa, rahaa, hermoja ja lihaksia.
ABL jiirikone leikkaa vinhaa vauhtia travertiinikiveen 45o kulmassa olevan siistin jiirireunan ja hioo sen kiiltäväksi. Homma käy hujauksessa, ja operaattori nappaa valmiin tuotteen hihnalta. Työstössä on uniikki allaskaluste. Kalusteilta haetaan yhä enemmän yhtenäistä lookkia ja saumattomuutta, ja ABL Leikkaamon jiirikone tuo lisäarvoa suunnitteluun ja rakentamiseen.
