Original Sokos Hotel Alexandra, Jyväskylä
The renovation of the Original Sokos Hotel Alexandra in Jyväskylä was completed in the spring of 2024. Interior design by Franz.
The design was influenced by local elements, such as the architectural style of Alvar Aalto. The principles of sustainable development were also strongly considered in the project: the original granite sink fixtures in the bathrooms were preserved, maintained, and reused wherever possible. Red granite is found in the Jyväskylä area and has also been used in the building’s facade.
The stone-like Grainstone Rough Grain Sand Naturale tile is from ABL-Laatat selection, and it has been used in the hotel room bathrooms as large surfaces and mosaics.
