Henri Forsman is the new CEO of ABL Finland and will guide the growing Finnish family business into future decades. A new generation will take on the lead as father and former CEO Ralf Forsman steps down and will focus on his new role as chairman of the board.

Henri Forsman will take on his new role as managing director in January of 2020. Having grown up in an entrepreneurial family and taken on many roles at ABL, Henri is very familiar with the home and suppliers of ABL and wants to maintain the values and foundation of the family business while focusing on future growth.

– The entirety of the construction industry is in a state of flux and the market will change over the next few years. It is important for us to be a pioneer in the industry and continue on a growing path. Ecological and quality products, long-term partnerships and the continuing development of our services, such as our cutting studio, all support this goal, Henri Forsman states.

Strict hierarchies are not part of the ABL ideology. As a leader, Henri firmly believes in the importance of involving the work community in the decision-making process. Along with a new CEO, ABL faces even more changes as Matti Halvari from project sales is appointed the new sales director.

ABL-Laatat – a Professional Partner

In response to growing globalization, ABL Finland wants to uphold close social relations and genuine partnerships. The family business means more than close family ties; the ABL family consists of business relationships around Europe as well as domestic architects, designers and developers. The customers of ABL can continue to trust that the services, products and solutions provided are always reliable.

– We will always uphold the same values, committed staff and community spirit. We are now, and will continue to be, a Finnish family business and I believe it is important to increase domestic employment.

Henri recalls with a twinkle in his eye how, as a little boy, he sat in his father’s office with his feet barely touching the ground and defiantly stated he would one day take his father’s place. He states, smiling, that his father is still more than welcome in the business.  As Ralf Forsman, the ‘grand old man’ of the tile business, gives his son the lead, he can focus on sparring management and as his new role as chairman of the board.
